The Computer Professionals Union (CPU) welcomes the temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Supreme Court (SC) on the Cybercrime law. The TRO is an outcome of the combined online and offline activities organized by bloggers, netizens, computer professionals and other sectors united in the call #NotoCyberCrimeLaw. However, we still have to be vigilant until this law is junked.
The CPU will continue to support actions both online and offline. We will continue to build tools to defend our rights online.
We are reminding this administration to stop crafting irrelevant laws and instead focus on passing the Freedom of Information Bill and other bills which can greatly benefit the people. ###
